DESCRIPTION
HOLDBRITE XF (EXTRA FOAM) is specifically formulated for the effective removal of heavy duty residues, without harming the paint and the personnel using it. HOLDBRITE XF is to be used by high pressure advanced technology cleaning machines. The rich foaming of the product allows it to stick onto the surface, completely removing any residues. HOLDBRITE XF is highly concentrated, comprising special detergents, surfactants and corrosion inhibitors. HOLDBRITE XF can be quickly dissolved in water for cleaning after coal, pet coke, oily residues, concentrates, and other difficult cargoes. Also ideal for removing lighter grease, oil, and dirt deposits. Compatible with most painted surfaces and dries leaving a good shine.
HOLDBRITE XF is water based, non flammable, biodegradable and IMO-approved. Only cleaners registered in Annex10 of IMO’s MEPC.2/Circular can be used and disposed of at sea for cargo tank cleaning, when the cargo residue slops are disposable at sea.

APPLICATION
HOLDBRITE XF can be used to clean cargo holds on bulk carriers and OBOs, tanks and refrigeration vessels after coal, pet coke, oily residues, concentrates, and other difficult cargoes. Further diluted, it removes lighter grease and dirt deposits.
Suitable for epoxy, but not for zinc silicate coatings. In this case, use our IMO-approved SUPER RED.
If only HOLDBRITE or SUPER RED is available onboard, you may add CHEMO FOAM BOOSTER and increase the resident time, thus cleaning efficiency.
USE AND DOSING
Instructions are based on experience and are meant only as a guide since circumstances for each tank cleaning operation vary. They are not intended to interfere with the judgment of the vessel’s responsible personnel.
Precleaning cargo hold tanks with high pressure warm water is highly recommended since large deposits of oil or other residues in the tank must be removed to ensure an effective cleaning operation.
Dilute from 10 to 25% of HOLDBRITE XF in fresh water. Spray the solution onto the surface, using spray foam equipment. Allow solution to penetrate soil for 10-30 min. and then wash off thoroughly with high pressure fresh water. Always wash off before chemicals dry on the surface.
The high foaming action of HOLDBRITE XF allows the chemicals to stick to the surface longer, before drying. For heavily soiled areas, a preliminary cleaning is required. If surface is heavily contaminated, higher concentrations of the product in water can be used.
For general use, dilute appropriately, depending on the contamination and use conventional cleaning methods, such as brushing, scrubbing or spraying. Allow the product to act and then rinse off with fresh water before drying.
If HOLD BARRIER is applied to the cargo hold surfaces prior to loading, the concentration of HOLDBRITE XF in the cleaning solution may be reduced.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Safe to use on all metal surfaces and parts except aluminium, zinc, tin and its alloys. It is highly recommended to always test all cleaner solutions on a small area of tank coating, before full scale application.
