It is particularly useful where conventional alkaline cleaners or general-purpose degreasers are insufficient for strongly adhered coal-tar or bituminous residues.

The penetrating agent reacts with particles and Coaltar / Bitumen / Asphalt containing component while the other part reacts with particles and emulsifiers for water mixing.
Cleaning Method
The cleaning procedure should be selected according to the type, thickness and age of the deposit, tank coating and available cleaning equipment.
A typical operation may involve:

Remove loose cargo residues and sediments.

Pre-wash the contaminated surface where appropriate.

Apply the Coal Tar Cleaner using suitable spraying or circulation equipment.

Allow sufficient contact time for the chemical to penetrate the deposit.

Agitate or circulate the cleaning solution as required.

Use suitable temperature and mechanical action where permitted by the tank coating and cleaning procedure.

Remove the loosened/emulsified contamination.

Rinse thoroughly with suitable water.

Inspect the tank and repeat spot cleaning where necessary.
Important: The exact concentration, temperature and contact time should be established from the current RXSOL technical bulletin/TDS and the actual cargo residue. Do not assume a generic dosage for every coal-tar cleaning operation.
